Employer benefits

Increase the retention of your employees

The bike can be a nice perk to your employees, if the budget allows. And even if there are no internal budgets available, the leasing costs may be partly or entirely covered by an employee's contribution from her/his gross salary. (more info). A win-win for all involved.

Costs 120% deductible

All costs related to encouraging commuting by bicycle enjoy a tax reduction of 120%. This deduction can be applied to ALL costs related to commuting bikes, including purchasing and constructing bike parkings, change rooms and showers.

Can be added to the bicycle compensation

Even if the bike is made available by the employer, an employee can still enjoy the favorable tax regime on the bicycle compensation. The employee receives in this case a compensation of 0,22EUR per km. The bicycle compensation is fully tax deductible at 100%. In addition, this compensation can also be combined with a "cafeteria plan" or flexible remuneration.

Employee benefits

No benefit in kind

When the bicycle is made available to the employee by the employer for free, the tax authorities don't charge a tax on a benefit in kind, not even on the private use of the bike! The condition is that the employee officially confirms that she/he regularly uses the bike for commuting. you don't need to register for these commuting trips, unless you plan to pay bicycle compensations.

Can be added to the bicycle compensation

The bicycle compensation can be combined with the (partially or completely) free provision of a bicycle. The bicycle compensation is an income completely exempt from tax. The bicycle compensation is not considered as 'salary' and is therefore not subject to social security contributions.

A employee who has a company car can also receive a bicycle compensation for those days she/he uses a bike for her/his commuting trip.

Up to 60% advantage in comparison with a private purchase

As part of a "cafeteria plan" or flexible remuneration, the employee can choose a bike that is her/his personal choice. The advantage herein is that the personal contribution is deducted from the gross salary. This means that a road bike that one could buy with her/his net salary, is now paid with gross salary. This difference can be up to 60% of the total cost of the bike!

The employee can even use this bike compensation for paying her/his contribution to the bike lease costs. In practice, this means that an employee, who lives at about 10 km from her/his work, and who gets a bike with a lease cost of 50 EUR, can get the bike for free. Here are the details: 50 EUR divided by 0,22 EUR bike compensation gives 228 km that the employee needs to bike. With 19 workable days in a month, this results in a daily distance of about 12 km.

Benefits of Leasing

Improve your cash flow by spreading your costs (purchase and VAT).

In our renting formula, the costs related to the bikes are spread over 36 months. This duration can be of course be adapted according to the needs of your business.

Leasing is undoubtedly the cheapest form of financing compared with the alternatives. With a leasing formula, the purchase is 100% financed.

In addition to the direct costs, also the VAT is pre-financed. It is Team Cyclis who pays the VAT on the purchase of bicycles and who needs to recover that VAT. When you do this yourself, the recovery may take three to six months, which again results in a cash-flow disadvantage which can be very expensive. The burden of financing in our rental formula is up to Team Cyclis, so you have a considerable advantage.
