I help someone get a bicycleWhen we talk about a win-win, we don’t just mean the personal benefits (strong muscles, a clear mind). For I Cycle to Work, we’re once again riding in tandem with the Cyclists’ Union (Fietsersbond) this year. Their enthusiastic members are a key driving force in mobilising more participants every time.
But our collaboration goes further than that. With our action on 3 June (is it already in your calendar?), we aim to share the joy of cycling with families who don’t have that privilege. We’re raising funds to make a real difference through the A Bike for Everyone fund. Mobility is crucial to help people get on the road – both literally and figuratively – towards full participation in society.

Your school, sports club, training centre, family, a job interview… Even in the city, it’s impossible to live within walking distance of every important place in your life. According to the 2020 Municipal and City Monitor, 392,000 households in Flanders don’t have access to a bike. Financial, physical and mental barriers are at the root of this transport poverty. Providing the right solutions on such a large scale requires a substantial budget. And to help overcome that ‘mountain of money,’ we also count on the participants of I Cycle to Work.
