Is BA insurance required?
If you have a speed bike where the pedal assistance is maintained even at speeds above 25 km/h, no special insurance is required. The family BA insurance (Civil Liability) is then sufficient and so Cyclis will not take out BA insurance moped for you, you will not receive an international motor insurance card (“green card”).
If the speed bike can propel itself autonomously without pedal assistance, then a moped BA insurance is required. We will then take out this insurance for you and provide you with an international motor insurance card.
