Is a third-party liability insurance required?

If you have a speed bike where the pedal assistance is maintained even at speeds above 25 km/h, no special insurance is required. The family third-party liability insurance (Civil Liability) is then sufficient and so we will not take out a moped third-party liability insurance for you, you will not receive an international motor insurance card (“green card”).

If the speed bike can propel itself autonomously without pedal assistance, then a moped third-party liability insurance is required. We will then take out this insurance for you and provide you with an international motor insurance card.
