How did bike leasing get started at UAntwerp?

Margaux: “We introduced bike leasing at our university two years ago. It was a completely new project for us, so we got in touch with Cyclis Bike Lease. Since then, they have been a great help.”

How did you inform your employees about bike leasing in the first place?

Margaux: “Together with Cyclis, we organised info sessions for our employees across the different campuses. When you launch a new benefit, a lot of questions naturally pop up!”

What do you value most about working with Cyclis?

Margaux: “Cyclis always helps us very quickly, in a professional and customer-friendly manner. I really appreciate that. Even today, we still regularly receive enquiries in our inbox to which we don’t immediately know the answer ourselves. That’s when we know we can count on the staff at Cyclis.”

Where does the University of Antwerp stand today with bike leasing?

Margaux: “It’s now been two years, and we have nearly 300 leased bikes at our university. That might not sound like a large number to everyone, but for us it really is a huge amount.”

What do you notice about the cycling culture on campus?

Margaux: “During our cycling event at Campus Drie Eiken, I noticed a great deal of positive energy surrounding cycling and cycling to work. People are interested in the bikes and in bike leasing. What’s more, cycling is a more environmentally friendly alternative to driving.”

In the meantime, you’ve also opted for a lease bike yourself. How are you getting on with it?

Margaux: “This year, I decided to lease a bike through my work, and I’m really happy with it. I get to work faster and get around town more quickly. And I don’t arrive at work covered in sweat every time. That’s better for me and for my colleagues.”
