The number of high-quality cycling paths in Flanders has increased by 3.3%!

The number of cycling paths along regional roads in Flanders that are in excellent or good condition has risen by 3.3%, reaching a total of 63.8%. This is according to the latest cycling report from the Agency for Roads and Traffic (AWV). In total, Flanders has around 7,000 kilometres of cycling paths along its regional roads.
Compared to the previous measurement in 2021, the layout of cycling paths has improved in every province. This includes factors such as width and spacing. According to the agency, cycling in Flanders is becoming increasingly comfortable, as more bike paths are now being constructed in asphalt instead of paving stones.
